Job Description

DP Energy Australia (DPEA) is recruiting Senior Development Manger to join the DP Energy Australia team responsible for the development of a portfolio of renewable energy sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end to end lifecycle of renewable energy projects from inception through to ‘ready to build’. You will have experience in obtaining approvals for utility scale renewable energy projects, and knowledge of the planning system and consenting environment in states in the National Electricity Market with particular knowledge of NSW and QLD planning systems.

Location: Sydney preferred, other locations will be considered. Hybrid / Flexible working

Duration: Permanent Full Time

Responsibilities

  • Project Management of a portfolio of renewable development projects
  • Budget, programme and risk definition and management.
  • Co-ordination of invitation to tender (ITT) specifications & bid assessment.
  • Management of contracts to on time delivery of services.
  • Definition, management and execution of stakeholder and community engagement plans.
  • Collaboration in project design processes
  • Management of project partner obligations where relevant
  • Oversee grid connection applications and studies
  • Negotiation and contracting of third-party consultants and contractors;
  • Industry networking;
  • Some travel and out of hours work required

Experience

Essential

  • Qualifications in environmental science, urban planning, statutory planning, engineering, project management or similar;
  • Experience in co-ordinating and managing environmental and regulatory approval applications, ideally having experience of the full permitting and connection application lifecycle for at least one utility scale renewable energy project;
  • Knowledge of State planning systems across the NEM, in particular New South Wales and Queensland;
  • Experience in contracting and managing specialist consultants and contractors;
  • Positive attitude, effective collaborative and organisational skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong communication skills; and
  • Driver’s licence.

Desirable

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Site identification, landowner and community liaison;
  • Onshore or offshore wind farm development or construction experience
  • Stakeholder engagement and consultation
