Blair Marnie

A Chartered engineer who has worked in the power generation industry for both conventional and renewable plant for some 35 years: Blair Marnie spent 15 years in engineering and Project Management in new product development at the now Siemens Gas Turbine facility in Lincoln with a subsequent 20 years of renewable energy development experience with DP. Blair has significant experience in identifying, consenting and managing large scale renewable projects. He is currently leading on the origination of new sites and opportunities in Australia having supported the Australia development team for the past 10 years.

Land and Office Administrator

Jenny Harris

Jenny is DP Energy Australia’s Land and Office Administrator who has a strong accounting and administrative background spanning over 25 years. During her varied international career, Jenny has been involved in the banking, hospitality, construction, real estate, and retirement industries. Well-honed organizational skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail ensure the smooth operation of the Australian office. In addition to managing the full administration function including bookkeeping, Jenny also provides support to the Head of Finance and is a legal assistant to the Head of Legal providing support in relation to all legal agreements, managing landowner options and leases, reviewing land agreements, and keeping databases of contracts.

Senior Project Engineer

Luke Muccignat

Luke joined DP Energy Australia in January 2017 after graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree (first class honours). With over 5 years of experience with DP Energy Luke is the technical lead for all Australian projects which encompasses site surveys, design, modelling, stakeholder engagement, and more. Luke is able to dynamically switch between the office environment and intensive site surveys with ease to lead project design and site origination.

Development Manager

Gabrielle Powell

Gabrielle has over 11 years of experience in renewable energy development in onshore wind and hybrid projects across Australia. Focusing on Queensland developments, Gabrielle manages all aspects of planning, development, and environmental approvals including stakeholder and community engagement from site feasibility through development approval and pre-construction. Gabrielle began with DP Energy as a Project Officer for the Port Augusta Renewable Energy Park in South Australia and is the Development Manager for the Callide Wind Farm in Queensland.

Head of Development

Damian Bettles

Damian Bettles is the head of development for Canada/North America. Damian has been with DP Energy since 2012. During that time he has led on a number of strategic projects in Europe and Canada. Damian is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and has more than 20 years experience of in delivering major projects across a broad range of sectors. From transport and infrastructure to commercial, retail, healthcare, and industrial. Damian has experience of working with a variety of clients that include government and IFI-funded work, investment funds, bluechip companies, and individual private investors. With a background in engineering consultancy and design, build, and operational contracting Damian has a good knowledge of all aspects of the project lifecycle from conception through to commissioning and operation.

 

 

Commercial Director

John Kerr

Chartered Surveyor with an extensive background in Canada, the Caribbean and Ireland in the identification and management of property development opportunities, spanning a period of three decades, working with or consulting to PLC’s including Wimpey Taylor and Balfour Beatty.

John served as both Member and later Division Chairman of the Irish statutory body, the Valuation Tribunal for thirteen years.

With a formal business education taken at the University of Limerick and holder of both undergraduate and a Master’s degree, John is also an accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of both the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

John has a long association with the DP Energy Group and serves as the Commercial Director of the Group’s Canadian ventures.

Project Manager

Sarah Thomas

Sarah is a project manager for some of DP Energy’s Canada projects. Prior to joining the renewable energy sector, she worked in the shipbuilding industry overseeing ship programs in both the US and Canada. Sarah has more than 10 years of experience managing large-scale, complex projects. Sarah served in the US Navy and holds a bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering. She is a certified PMP professional and currently holds a director seat on the board of Marine Renewables Canada.

Head of Legal

Marie MacKenzie

Marie joined DP Energy as Head of Legal in 2017 and is responsible for the delivery of all legal services required by the DP Energy Group.  Marie trained with Masons (now Pinsent Masons) in London and worked in the IP/IT team before making the move in-house in 2000. Marie has held the position of head of legal at several companies and has a wide range of experience across many practice areas, including corporate, commercial,  project finance, and construction. She joined DP Energy from Nordex and brings her experience working on multiple wind farm projects across North Europe to her role as legal advisor to a developer.  Marie is dual-qualified in England & Wales (1995) and Ireland (2017

Head of Finance

Marie Nagle

Marie Nagle is Head of Finance with DP Energy with primary responsibility for ensuring good governance and robust financial management of all DP Energy Group companies. She has been a key member of the DP Energy management team since 2018. In this role she provides strategic support in relation to funding, project finance, mergers and acquisitions and business development.   Marie joined DP Energy in 2014 and has enjoyed diverse roles including Group financial management and supporting project financing across all jurisdictions.  Prior to joining DP Energy, she worked in private practice for nine years where she qualified as a Certified Public Accountant.

Grid Manager

Sara Armstrong

Sara is DP Energy’s Grid Manager and is responsible for leading on electrical design and grid studies for DP Energy’s international portfolio of projects. She holds a BE in Electronic Engineering (First-Class Honours), and Ph.D. in Photovoltaics from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Sara joined DP Energy in January 2016 as part of the Science Foundation Ireland Industrial Fellowship Programme in conjunction with the Marine and Renewable Energy Ireland Centre, before joining the DPE team on a full-time basis in January 2018. With nearly 20 years’ experience in the renewable energy field, Sara has also held research roles in areas such as power quality analysis, ocean energy power system modeling tools, power take-off physical testing and design, and electrical design of hybrid offshore platforms. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, European FP7 and Horizon 2020 technical reports, and presented at international conferences.

Project Manager

Joseph Kelly

Joseph’s remit is project manager of Irish onshore wind and energy storage. He joined DP Energy in September 2016. Before joining DP Energy, Joseph was part of the H2020 MARIBE project team, which looked at unlocking investment opportunities for the Blue Economy within the European Union. He has a PhD from University College Cork, which looked at optimisation methods for sizing battery energy storage systems. He holds a Master of Science in Marine Renewable Energy from UCC which focused on the challenges faced by marine energy companies, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. His areas of expertise include: Deep Reinforcement Learning applied to optimisation tasks, Multi-Objective Optimisation, Stochastic Optimisation, Neural Network Training for Optimisation, Technical Economic Modelling for project appraisal, Business Model analysis and development, Real Option Analysis for incorporating flexibility in projects, Project Management. He has published papers on the sizing of battery energy storage systems for microgrids and transmission grids. Within DP Energy, Joseph’s primary responsibility is Irish onshore wind and energy storage while also supporting other projects from a project development position.

Senior Project Engineer GIS Lead

Agnieszka Matysik

Agnieszka completed a MEngSc in Environmental Engineering from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Energy and a Higher Diploma in Geographic Information Systems from the University College Cork. Agnieszka participated in Ad Valorem Property Tax Impact Analysis commissioned by the Department of Local Taxes and Cadastre of the Ministry of Finance in Poland. She has 26 years of experience in geodata analysis and is an experienced researcher with professional knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their environmental impacts. With DP Energy, Agnieszka’s responsibility is to support applications for planning for various energy projects and support site identification and selection using advanced multi-criteria GIS analysis. She also conducts an initial analysis for wind and solar resource and energy yield, project capacities, and layouts.

Group HR Manager

Patricia O’Sullivan

Patricia is Human Resources (HR) Manager for the DP Energy Group. Patricia qualified as an accountant with The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA) in 2008 and completed a master’s in human resource management in 2014. Prior to joining DP Energy, Patricia worked in the pharmaceutical industry as an accountant for many years and then moved into the position of HR Manager for a further nine years until joining DP Energy in 2017. Patricia oversees the daily operations of DP Energy’s human resource department including recruitment, planning, training and accounting.

Consenting & Environment Manager

Edwina White

Edwina White is the Consenting and Environment Manager for DP Energy’s Offshore Ireland portfolio. Edwina joined DP Energy in 2020 with more than 10 year’s global experience in the renewable energy industry. Edwina is a chartered Environmental Scientist (C.Env) with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and is highly experienced in environmental appraisal having developed Environmental Impact Assessment Reports from both developer-side and consultant-side. Edwina is skilled in project management having led the development of wind and solar projects in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Chile, South Africa and in Asia. Her areas of expertise also encompass land contract negotiation and stakeholder management. Edwina has also specialised in the development and implementation of Project Controls aligned with Project Management Institute (PMI) principles as well as in the development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems aligning with ISO 14001.

Chief Operating Officer

Adam Cronin

Adam Cronin is Chief Operating Officer for the DP Energy Group and is responsible for the Operational and Service Delivery functions across the company’s international portfolio of onshore and offshore renewable energy developments. Adam has almost three decades of experience in leading and managing technical and non-technical teams in the delivery of infrastructure, marine and energy projects. Prior to joining DP Energy, Adam was Director of the Marine Division at Byrne Looby. He has also held roles in the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources and the Department of the Environment. He holds a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering

Technical Engineering Manager

Shane McCarthy

Shane McCarthy has joined DP Energy as our Technical and Engineering Manager. Shane is a qualified Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineer who has worked almost exclusively in the marine sphere since qualifying in 2006. He is a Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineers Ireland and holds a post graduate certificate in Coastal Engineering. Shane has 17 years’ experience in marine civil engineering project management, design, consenting, procurement, and construction. Shane is highly experienced in providing engineering design for consenting applications such as planning permissions, foreshore consenting, dumping at sea consents and aquaculture licensing. He has managed project risk and has undertaken the role of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP). Shane is adept at the procurement and management of service providers and contractors for a wide range of projects. Shane’s previous experience also includes managing a consultant’s marine division, and he is a former Department of Marine engineer. Shane’s primary role with DP Energy is managing the delivery for the Irish Offshore engineering design.

Project Engineer

Caoimhe Farrell

Caoimhe is  DP Energy’s  Project Engineer for the  Irish Offshore portfolio. Caoimhe graduated with a B.Sc. in Geology and went on to complete a M.Sc. in Applied Environmental Geology from University College Cork. Since graduating Caoimhe has worked in an Engineering Consultancy for nearly three years on a wide variety projects where ground engineering was a key player including site investigations, geohazard assessments, EIARs and Due Diligence. She is also a member in training with the Institute of Geologists of Ireland. Caoimhe now supports the Technical and Engineering Manager in the delivery of the Irish Offshore engineering design.

Environment Project Manager

Gavin Arneill

Gavin is DP Energy’s Environment Project Manager for the Irish Offshore portfolio. Gavin graduated with a B.Sc. in Zoology, subsequently completing a PhD. in University College Cork and an Advanced Diploma in Planning and Environmental Law from Kings Inns. Gavin’s Ph.D. was funded by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), designing best practice guidelines for various seabird survey methodologies. Gavin has authored several internationally peer-reviewed publications and technical reports. Over the last 10 years, Gavin has worked in a number of consultancy and academic roles spanning various terrestrial and marine projects. Before joining DP, Gavin was the lead ecologist assisting in the design of a Digital Aerial Survey workflow with an Irish data acquisition company. Gavin leads the management of the onshore and offshore ecology surveys for the Irish Offshore portfolio and works closely with the Consenting and Environment Manager in the delivery of the Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and ancillary consents for the Irish Offshore portfolio.

Land Manager

John Hayes

John joined DP Energy in 2021 as a land Manager, working on both Offshore and Onshore projects in Ireland. John graduated with Honours from UCC with a degree in Environmental Sciences in 2008 and has worked for 15 years in Renewable energy across various projects and roles in Ireland and the UK. John’s experience ranges from the very early stages of development all the way through to construction and energisation of renewable projects. A key component of John’s work has always been managing relationships with landowners and stakeholders, while also bringing strong experience in the site selection and procurement processes.

Project Development Manager UK & New Markets

Bethan Morgan

Bethan is our Project Development Manager for the UK and New Markets team based in our UK Head Office in Pembroke Dock. With over seven years project management experience across the IT, Energy and Social Enterprise sectors, Bethan’s focus is on the development of DP Energy’s offshore energy projects, leading on consents and stakeholder engagement for the Celtic Sea Gwynt Glas Floating offshore wind farm project as well as developing new technology projects in the UK and overseas.
Bethan was previously Project Manager for Marine Energy Wales (MEW), the industry-led stakeholder group representing the wave, tidal and floating offshore wind industries in Wales. MEW brings together technology developers, regulators, funders, test centres, wider sectoral alliances, the supply chain, academia and the public sector to establish Wales as a global leader in sustainable emerging offshore renewable generation. Bethan supported the delivery of the Marine Energy Test Area (META) Project; Wales’ National marine energy test centre, from initial project development through to operational status through managing the consent and license applications, securing a Crown Estate Lease and developing strong stakeholder relationships in the region.

Stakeholder and Communications Manager

Ffion Wright

Ffion is the Stakeholder and Communications Manager for the UK and New Markets team based in our UK Head Office in Pembroke Dock. Ffion brings to the team over 25 years of marketing and communications expertise in the IT, Energy and Social Enterprise sectors. Prior to joining DP, Ffion worked with a marine energy technology developer raising the international profile of the organisation whilst supporting project delivery and product commercialisation. In addition to facilitating positive stakeholder engagement with political leaders, key influencers, and community groups, Ffion led a program of STEM initiatives to help educate and inspire the next generation of renewable energy pioneers. Ffion’s focus is on the development of DP Energy’s Celtic Sea Floating Offshore Wind activity, leading the stakeholder and communications for the Gwynt Glas project and supporting the growth of new market initiatives in the UK and overseas. Since joining Gwynt Glas, Ffion has worked with the team to forge strategic partnerships and build a strong project identity in the competitive Celtic Sea FLOW market, delivering clear communications and early engagement activity with key stakeholders to increase understanding and share knowledge. Ffion has been integral to the development of Gwynt Glas’ workforce development outreach activity, in particular the award-winning Destination Renewables programme.

 

Head of Development UK & New Markets

Chris Williams

Chris is the Head of Development for UK and New Markets team based in our UK Head Office in Pembroke Dock. A Chartered Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ experience delivering engineering and renewable energy projects, his experience encompasses all aspects of project development, including environmental and planning procedures, procurement and financial assessment. Chris started work on renewable energy projects in 1995 designing hydropower projects including the UK’s largest low-head hydro project at Beeston Weir on the River Trent. He spent two years with the Environment Agency responsible for several capital projects including the 32km Sea Defence scheme to protect the Caldicot Levels in south Wales. In 2002 Chris joined United Utilities and was appointed Project Manager for the Scarweather Sands Offshore Wind Farm in Swansea Bay. In 2004 Chris joined Eco2 Ltd managing the portfolio of wind farms in Wales and Scotland. In 2007 Chris became the Development Director for Tidal Energy Ltd and was instrumental in the development of DeltaStream technology and the test site at Ramsey Sound which was completed in 2016. In 2017 Chris became Commercial Manager at Bombora Wave Power, securing £13.5m of grant to build a prototype 1.5MW wave energy converter. Chris joined DP Energy in March 2021 and brings his broad range of experience developing commercial sites to enable DP Energy to develop projects that can deliver commercial renewable energy with minimal environmental impact.

Administration & Co-ordination Officer

Gabby Kelly

Gabby is DP Energy’s Administration & Co-ordination Officer. A motivated and resourceful senior administrator, Gabby graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and most recently completed a professional diploma in Suppy Management with UCD Professional Academy. After several years of working and gaining experience in Human Resource in both the public and private sectors, Gabby moved to Ireland and worked for University College Cork. There Gabby served a variety of roles in marketing, recruiting, administration and content development. Gabby will support the Communications and Co-ordination manager on DP Energy’s cross platform communications requirements as well as the co-ordination of the offshore wind programme while providing support to the wider team.

 

 

Environment & Development Manager

Jack Murphy

Jack has joined the DP Energy Australia team as Environment and Development Manager. Jack successfully graduated the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Environmental Science Advanced – Honours Class 1, in 2015. Since graduating, Jack has worked across several major infrastructure projects within NSW in both the Public and Private sector. Leading the development of environmental planning approval documentation and obtaining development consent for these projects. At DP Energy Australia, Jack will be focused on obtaining planning approvals for large-scale renewable energy projects with a focus on NSW.

Project Manager

Lee Watt

Lee is the Project Manager for the UK and New Markets team based in our UK Head Office in Pembroke Dock. Lee is primarily working on a number of our offshore wind projects whilst also scoping new business/technology opportunities. Prior to joining DP Energy, Lee was with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for almost 15 years, most of that as a Senior Project Manager working in the onshore business unit. Lee provides a wealth of experience not only having worked on a variety of projects throughout North Europe and the Middle East for SGRE but also due to his length of service in one company, he has full cycle, wind farm development experience on some of those delivered projects. Lee also has a BSc in Coastal Zone Management and an MSc in Renewable Energy and Resource Management where his thesis papers were on tidal and wave energy respectively.

Offshore Development Manager

Anne-Marie Belliveau

Anne-Marie Belliveau joined DP Energy in early 2022 as the Offshore Development Manager for Canada, focusing on offshore wind development in Nova Scotia. She is a professional engineer and certified project manager with over 15 years of professional experience. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Dalhousie University and a Masters of Science from New York University. Since 2014 she has been working in marine renewable energy, mainly focused on tidal energy. She has held various positions in the sector, most notably including Tidal Project Development Manager at Emera, and Director of Operations at the Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy (FORCE), Canada’s test centre for tidal energy. From Anne-Marie’s past in the tidal energy sector, she brings experienced project development knowledge in environmental consenting, R&D management, technical awareness, project management and stakeholder engagement.

Group Ecology & Environmental Manager

James Forde

James Forde is Group Ecology & Environmental Manager for DP Energy Group. James works across DP Energy’s portfolio of projects providing strategic environmental and technical advice for offshore and onshore renewable energy generation and transmission. James holds a Degree in Applied Marine Biology and a Masters in Shellfish Biology and Fisheries from the University of North Wales, Bangor, and a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Galway. James is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). James has an extensive understanding of ecology and a full appreciation of the objectives and mechanisms of national and international environmental legislation and policy. James has significant experience engaging with licensing and competent authorities, regulators, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders in finding effective environmental solutions that meet project needs.

Hugh Cantwell

Hugh has joined DP Energy as Head of Projects for Australia. Hugh has an Engineering Degree and an MBA with specialisation in construction project management. Hugh has almost 25 years of experience across specialist contracting, consulting engineering, and renewable energy project development, construction, and operation. Hugh joins following almost 15 years with Origin Energy where he gathered extensive experience in all phases of project development, construction, and O&M across the Cogeneration, Wind, Solar, EV, and Energy Services sectors.

Office Manager

Joanna Brindley

Joanna is DP Energy’s Office Manager, supporting the UK and New Markets team based in our UK head office in Pembroke Dock. After many years working in Business Support in the business and infrastructure development sector, Joanna has spent over 4 years working with a leading marine energy technology developer, where she undertook a variety of roles including HR, office and team administration, Health and Safety, supporting European Grant procedures and funding requirements, as well as playing a leading role in ‘team culture’. Joanna provides a wealth of experience and administrative and business support to DP Energy’s UK and New Markets team.

Group Finance Manager

Jennifer Brosnan

Jennifer became a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland in 2002. Since then she has worked in various practices throughout Cork, with the last 10 years spent in the busy tax department of Quintas Accountants where she was Senior Manager until her recent move to DP Energy. In practice Jennifer specialised in audit compliance, accounts preparation, personal & corporate taxation & company secretarial work. Jennifer has gained significant experience across a multiple of sectors during her time in practice which will benefit DP Energy greatly in her role as Group Finance Manager.

PR & Communications Intern

Rachel Cronin

Rachel is DP Energy’s PR and Communications Intern. Currently in her third year at the University of Limerick, she is completing a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Marketing. Rachel assists the PR & Communication Manager in DP Energy’s cross-platform communications requirements as well as supporting the co-ordination of the company’s project portfolio. Rachel also creates digital content and is responsible for managing DP Energy’s Social Media Platforms.

Cormac Gebruers

Cormac Gebruers is Group External Affairs Manager for DP Energy. Cormac works in business development for the Group and provides strategic support and operational oversight on partnerships and stakeholder engagement across DP Energy’s portfolio of projects. As a former professional mariner with significant  supply chain experience, he advises the Group on maritime operations and supply chain aspects of offshore projects. Cormac holds a BSc in Computer Science from University College Cork and a Diploma in Nautical Science from the National Maritime College of Ireland (Munster Technological University). He is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute, a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport and a member of the Royal Institute of Navigation. In both the private and public sectors, Cormac has extensive experience in leadership, executive, operational & technical management roles. He previously held the Head of College and Head of Research positions at the National Maritime College of Ireland, he has worked globally in senior management for a maritime navigation systems multinational and owned and managed a successful Irish based maritime & supply chain consultancy. Cormac has served on numerous Irish and European advisory groups, committees and boards. Cormac began his career as a deck officer in the merchant navy, working on ships worldwide.

John Long

John has a strong background in Inventory Control and Logistics. Over a decade ago, he made a successful transition into the IT field and has since become a qualified IT Infrastructure Engineer. With a wealth of experience, John excels in planning, implementing, and managing various IT projects, including hardware upgrades, software application roll-outs, Cloud migration, and configuration. His expertise extends to providing support at all levels, from Level 1 to Level 3. John plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient IT operations and delivering effective solutions within DP Energy Group.

Barb has a Master of Environmental Management and Restoration, Bachelor of Technology, Environmental Science, Bachelor of Environmental Studies and an Environmental Engineering Technology Diploma.  With over 30 years experience working in the environmental field in the public and private sectors, Barb started her career in government as an Environmental Engineering Technologist working in groundwater.  She moved into the role of Inspector Specialist, and then lead the ambient air quality program for the Province of Nova Scotia.  While in the private sector Barb focused on environmental permitting, environmental assessments, development and delivery of public outreach and education products, tools, communication along with leading and participating in community liaison and committees.

Barb is responsible for leading stakeholder, rights holders and community engagement for our projects across Atlantic Canada and is passionate about the environment ensuring we do the right thing.

Legal Counsel

Stephanie Eason

Steph has joined DP Energy as Legal Counsel for Australia. Steph completed her legal training in London in 2011 and worked as an associate solicitor before travelling SE Asia and making her home in Australia in 2016. Steph has 12 years of experience across legal contracting, property law, and energy law and regulations.

Steph joins following almost 5 years as a Senior Contract Manager in centralised energy services where she gathered experience in the energy sector working on a variety of matters including negotiating agreements with developers and owners corporations consisting of electricity metering, centralised hot water, solar, EV Chargers and HVAC. Steph is dual-qualified in England & Wales (2011) and Australia (2019).

Environment and Development Manager

Lachlan Giles

Lachlan has joined DP Energy as an Environment and Development Manager. Lachlan has extensive experience in planning approvals and environmental management strategies, with a background in energy and infrastructure project development.

Lachlan has a strong knowledge of the planning system, being extensively involved in the preparation of key environmental planning documents and the coordination of supporting technical assessments, working on various developments across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. He has worked on projects at all stages, from early site feasibility stage, successfully navigating the planning approval process, into the construction and operational stages.

Lachlan has worked with an ethos of ensuring new developments comply with relevant legislation, policies and guidelines, whilst promoting positive environmental outcomes. At DP Energy Australia, Lachlan will be focused on obtaining planning approvals for large-scale renewable energy projects with a focus on NSW.
