As one of Ireland’s leading developers of renewable energy projects, head-quartered in Cork and operating across the world, we are committed to using the most sustainable and environmentally responsible methods possible in all of our energy developments.
With a global reputation spanning over 30 years, we develop, construct and have operated renewable energy assets worldwide since our first wind farm project, Bessy Bell in Co. Tyrone, was delivered in 1993.
The company is led by co-founders Maureen and Simon De Pietro – a mother and son partnership. They are supported by a team of highly experienced engineers, marine scientists, planning experts, project managers, environmental managers and financial, legal and technical experts.

Maureen De Pietro
She is a graduate of Manchester University and was a practising solicitor in the UK from 1966 until the year 2000. In 1992 being aware of the need for action to combat threatened climate change and environmental degradation, she gave up her law firm partnership to become a sole practitioner and to devote her time to the promotion of the production of energy from renewable resources.
Since that time she has been an active member of a number of national and international wind and renewable energy associations for the promotion of renewable energy. Maureen has been active in development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects. She is particularly interested in new technologies such as floating wind, tidal, solar and energy storage to maximise the deployment of Renewable Energy. Maureen was an original member of the Council of the Irish Wind Energy Association (IWEA) since its creation in 1993 and for many years since.
Simon De Pietro
With over 30 years’ experience in developing renewable energy projects, Simon is a qualified Mechanical Engineer in Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics from the University of Liverpool, England and company director of the DP Energy Group.
Simon maintains a day-to-day, hands on role within the company and has significant analytical and field experience in power generation across wind, solar, and storage as well as a deep understanding of thermal generation having initially worked within the Gas Turbine industry on low emissions turbines before moving entirely in to the Renewable sector.
Simon has been Co-president of Ocean Energy Europe for the past 10 years, and is also a member of the Wind Energy Ireland Council.
