As one of Ireland’s leading developers of renewable energy projects, head-quartered in Cork and operating across the world, we are committed to using the most sustainable and environmentally responsible methods possible in all of our energy developments.
With a global reputation spanning over 30 years, we develop, construct and have operated renewable energy assets worldwide since our first wind farm project, Bessy Bell in Co. Tyrone, was delivered in 1993.
The company is led by co-founders Maureen and Simon De Pietro – a mother and son partnership. They are supported by a team of highly experienced engineers, marine scientists, planning experts, project managers, environmental managers and financial, legal and technical experts.

Maureen De Pietro
Maureen De Pietro founded DP Energy in the early 1990s, leaving a successful legal partnership to dedicate her career to the development and promotion of renewable energy.
For almost four decades, Maureen has led the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects worldwide, building DP Energy Group into one of the most successful and respected independent utility-scale renewable energy developers.
Maureen continues to provide passionate and dedicated leadership in advancing DP Energy’s renewable energy mission, with a strong focus on the Company’s environmental and community-centred approach to project development.
Simon De Pietro
Simon De Pietro is CEO and a Director of DP Energy Group. With a background in Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics from the University of Liverpool, and experience in industrial gas turbine development, Simon brings over 30 years of experience in the energy sector to his role.
Simon takes a hands-on approach to leadership, working closely with the Company’s leadership team to advance DP Energy’s global portfolio across onshore and offshore wind, solar energy, energy storage, and green liquid and gas fuels.
Simon has played a key role in expanding DP Energy’s activities internationally and across a range of renewable generation and energy storage technologies. Simon is a passionate advocate for DP Energy’s renewable energy mission and its environmental and community-focused approach to project development.
